On-line Learning Courses

To complement the series of workshops and seminars organised by the IT Wales Business Club we have available a series of popular on-line learning courses.

On Line courses allow you to study wherever you want, whenever you want. The courses are free of charge to IT Wales Business Club members. Join the IT Wales Business Club

If you are an existing IT Wales Business Club member, your existing username and password will give you access to the material in the members section of the site.

The courses provided have been specially developed for IT Wales by Imagitech, in conjunction with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Wales Swansea. They are designed to be as straightforward and effective as possible. The following courses are now available:

Creation and Administration of Internet Sites

This course will introduce you to HTML, Links, Documents, Style Sheets, Tables, Forms, Site Planning, Design, Search Engines, CGI, Java Applets and Web Programming.
No prior knowledge is assumed. Preview Course

Programming in Delphi

This course will take you through the Delphi IDE, Oject Orientation, Multimedia, Databases, SQL the Internet / Communications and components. Preview course

Computer Networks

This course will give you a detailed understanding of computer networks, from TCP/IP to planning a network. This includes lectures on how the functionality of a computer network can be broken down into manageable chunks using a layer model, platform independent issues related to the creation of a computer network, and material which forms the basis of understanding TCP/IP ranging from Acronyms, Addressing to Troubleshooting. preview course.

Programming in Java

This course is an introduction to Java and will take you from the first principles of Java, and its syntax, through building Java Applets to complex threads, file handling, object oriented programming techniques and networking. Preview course

Programming in VB

An introduction to Visual Basic, taking you from file input out put, form design to object oriented programming in VB. This course includes lectures on what VB is capable of, what sort of applications can be constructed using VB and what you shouldn't use VB for. You will learn how to build your fist application, how to build User Interfaces, and we work on towards Object Oriented Programming and Component Software Development. Preview Course

Data driven web applications (IIS & ASP)

Internet Information Server and Active Server Pages - Learn how to develop interactive websites programming in ASP using IIS on Windows NT, creating Active Server Pages and Web Applicatons that interface with SQL server. Preview Course
