You are invited to join us for the first in a series of Business lunch events specifically designed to confront the issues that can seriously impact on your business.
This month's topic: - ID Fraud with guest speakers Richard Hollis, CEO, Orthus and Lee Fisher, Partner, Morgan Cole Solicitors and member of the e-Crime Wales Partnership Initiative
At the recent eCrime Summit held in the Celtic Manor Resort Newport one of the most thought provoking presentations of the day was delivered by security expert Richard Hollis, on the subject of
Identity Fraud. Richard has now agreed to support the ITWales programme, delivering a presentation to ensure
Welsh business is informed about what is now the fastest growing crime on the Internet.
In his original presentation Richard stated that ID Fraud happens because your identity is "where the money is". According to the Home Office, businesses lost almost £2 billion to ID fraud in 2006; but
the fraud per individual victim on credit cards is now over £4,000 before it's noticed.
As ID fraud continues to grow the basic methods of sourcing information, bin raiding and wallet theft, have been superseded by hi tech methods. These include phishing, accessing personal
information on unsecured websites, and the theft of stored data by unauthorised internal or external access.
Businesses have a key role to play in the prevention and detection of ID fraud and must be aware of the steps they can take to ensure they protect themselves and their customers from becoming one
of the thousands of victims.
If you want to prevent your personal and business data from becoming "fuel for fraud" then join us at this business lunch!
The event is FREE to attend but advance booking is
essential as places are limited
