Dump the Junk: Top tips for effective email management

Thursday 24th May
6.30pm - 8.30pm (Doors open 6pm)

Robert Recorde Room, Faraday Building
Swansea University, SA2 8PP

Email is no longer just a useful and convenient means of communication. Over recent years email activity has grown extensively and it is now regarded by many as a key business tool, however, as with all business processes, in order to maximise the benefits you should be aware of the problems and ensure that you have procedures in place to minimise risk.

The risks and vulnerabilities of email include Spam, Phishing, Trojans, Viruses, Worms and Zombie attacks, but abuse of email is not just down to the spammers and hackers. Lack of knowledge and understanding can often result in staff unwittingly aggravating the situation. This can increase the threat to your business and result in loss of productivity through downtime as well as loss of credibility from customers and suppliers.

Mark Kiddell of ITWales has developed this event specifically to look at safe and effective email practices. His presentation will include guidance on issues such as hosting, authentication, encryption, firewalls, spam filters, greylisting and spoofing.

This event forms part of the ITWales business development programme and is FREE to attend.
Following the presentations there will be a buffet and networking opportunity.
