UK firms 'struggling to comply with regulations'
IT professionals working at UK companies are finding it difficult to meet regulatory compliance requirements for systems and network security, a new survey has revealed.
According to research by IT services vendor Shavlik Technologies, 40 per cent of IT and security professionals are unsatisfied with the level of
compliance of their current technology solution
Mark Shavlik, chief executive of the company, explained that companies who struggle to manage their security and compliance processes effectively could be left vulnerable to malicious code attacks by
hackers.
He said: "Despite efforts to apply various technologies, companies continue to struggle with efforts to manage and close vulnerability gaps, while concerns over regulatory compliance are driving
them to look for more ways to simplify through automation."
Meanwhile, Google has unveiled a new set of hosted enterprise security products, protecting businesses from web-based malware. Google Web Security for Enterprises analyses URLs, traffic behaviour and code reputation to ensure that
