Small firms 'can attract customers with website'
Small businesses can attract more customers if they can develop a website that is an "enjoyable experience" for users, according to an industry expert.
Justin Cooke, managing director of Fortune Cookie, a leading UK web design company, told delegates at the Internet World conference at Earl's Court, London that a good website should "create a great user experience".
He said: "The way that you can make users advocate to use your site is to create a great user experience - making websites findable, desirable, credible, usable and accessible. [Customers] should
really enjoy the experience."
Mr Cooke added that small businesses in Wales and across the UK must also think about "the whole consistency between online and offline" and try to ensure that the "website
experience matches the brand essence".
Earlier this month Which? Holiday released the results of a survey into consumer's views on travel websites.
The most common frustrations for users were having to register before being able to use a site and long waiting times.
