Google launches Site Search

Web giant Google has launched a re-branded version of Google Custom Search Business Edition, a tool that allows businesses to offer the search engine on their own websites.

The newly named Google Site Search offers enhanced index coverage and can now integrate synonyms into a search.

The company explained that Site Search administrators will also be able to add their own custom terms to the synonym dictionary and bias the searches towards particular dates, meaning that business owners will be able to display the most relevant products in their search results.

Matt Glotzbach, enterprise product director at Google, said: "Search continues to be the way people find information.

"It has really taken over as the navigation paradigm for the Web. We're really set on addressing that and creating a hosted search offering that's accessible to everyone."

According to Google, the service takes businesses just ten minutes to sign up to, and the hosted search solution offers support in 24 different languages.
