Internet marketing 'will become the most popular'

Advertising over the internet is due to become the main form of marketing in 2008, according to a new survey.

Enders Analysis has said that the largest area where this is witnessed is on Google, although other formats are starting to rise in popularity, reports Reuters.

Because more consumers are taking advantage of the internet all of the time, the company suggested, it is viable medium through which to target them, news that may interest those with IT companies in Wales.

The report contended: "Our forecast for 2008 is that online advertising expenditure will grow 26.4 percent in nominal terms to £3.56 billion, overtaking TV ad spend, which we expect to fall 2.5 percent to £3.39 billion."

Video clips are becoming more commonplace in these channels, it added, even if the quality of some of them do not remain up to scratch.

Experts including Vodafone's Arun Sarin claimed this year that the wireless broadband market is due to grow in 2008.
