A dedicated business search engine that is simple & easy to navigate. A good starting point for anyone trying to locate industry specific data from general trends to niche product specifics. The site is USA orientated but some of the featured articles, reports and guidance notes will be useful to just about anyone.

Business Week
The small business section of Business Week is worth a visit just to keep abreast of what is happening within the SME market. Do bear in mind though, that the site is written for an American audience. However, this shouldn't put you off as it carries some very newsworthy, in-depth articles.

Small Business Knowledge Base
This free resource is run by the US company BizMove.com. It is packed with advice on starting and running small businesses, from marketing plans to loans and working from home. Although US-based, much of the information could apply to UK businesses. Some free downloadable software is offered.
